For our October meeting, we did the "take home a project" from the last region meeting. Gerty attended the meeting and then taught our chapter how to do embroidery on a magnolia leaf!
When dried properly, magnolia leaves are pretty hardy and can be perforated with a pin to create something similar to perforated paper. You can then do various embroidery techniques on it.
